Check Out The New EX1 Short: “Badwater Road”
By Damon Martens | October 16, 2008
Check out the new EX1 short shot on Badwater Road, which is only a small part of Death Valley, California. Even in early October, Badwater Basin still reaches well past 100 degrees during the day! I was very impressed with the EX1’s performance in such hot conditions! Please leave comments in our blog!

The coyotes howling really made it sound like you’re there yet when you camp in death valley they are mostly in the distance yelping (as a pack) frantically to corner some found prey. Enjoyed the sounds as they really made the place much more interesting that it is at first view.
The fades from one view to the other were nice and built up well to the point of alive humans brought in by bus vs. the old broken down building made of stone. I saw what I have seen before on numerous occasions when camping on the edge of those mountains far off in the distance. The movie brought me back.
Enjoyed the little critters swimming in the badwater. Awsome camera to have such versatility with the macro to micro abilities.
If you ever go back there you will find at dusk long lenghts of dune buggies and sand rails snaking up into the far off mountains with headlights and all making it look like a fire dragon crawling along. Funny thing is when all is quiet and the camp site is still you can actually hear the yells from the partiers who are riding those vehicles even all the way across the valley you see if the wind is right. Its kinda profound so far off and yet the sounds make them right at your feet.
Good stuff bud. I enjoyed once again.
